Automation Engineer (PLC Control) 

Gloucester 

Basic Salary £55,000 to £65,000 DOE + Overseas Travel Bonus (from 25% to 40% per day) + Contributory Pension + 25 Days Holiday + Group Life Assurance (9x Salary) + Income Protection + Training and Development 

Automation Engineer required for an industry leading supplier of manufacturing machinery with a reputation of global excellence. This is a great opportunity for either a senior automation engineer or a trainee automation engineer looking to join a company with a worldwide presence who are truly committed to developing their staff. Within this role, you will be based at a brand-new, purpose-built facility and will be given excellent earning opportunities and the chance to travel internationally. 

To apply for this role, you will have similar experience as an automation engineer and this role is open to candidates of all levels of experience as training and support can be provided. You will need experience with PLC, HMI and motion programming – experience with Rockwell Logix would be advantageous but not essential. 

The successful Automation Engineer will spend most of their time based at the company’s site in Gloucester where they will work within a small team programming PLC, HMI and Motion Control applications for automated machinery. You will work on both new and existing machinery so will be involved in both programming from scratch and modification. 

In addition, the successful Automation Engineer can expect to travel internationally four to five times a year, for up to two to three weeks at a time depending on the size of the project. You will typically travel alongside mechanical service engineers and will ensure any issues that appear after the machinery is rebuilt on customer sites are resolved to customers satisfaction.
