With a full order book extending to 2027, they are experiencing significant growth and are looking to expand their team with an experienced Brickwork Quantity Surveyor to support their ongoing projects.
Role Overview:
As a Brickwork Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing and overseeing the financial and contractual aspects of multiple brickwork-focused projects. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in brickwork or masonry-related construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:

Pre-Construction and Tendering:
* Prepare accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for brickwork projects.
* Review and assess subcontractor quotations and ensure value for money.

Cost Management and Budgeting:
* Monitor project costs and ensure that they align with the approved budget.
* Provide cost advice to the project team and identify cost-saving opportunities.
* Prepare cost reports, forecasts, and detailed financial tracking for senior management.

Contract Management:
* Administer subcontractor agreements, ensuring adherence to contract terms and conditions.
* Resolve any contractual issues that arise during the course of a project.

Site Visits and Progress Monitoring:
* Conduct regular site visits to assess the progress of brickwork packages.
* Provide site-based cost advice and ensure quality and compliance with specifications.

Final Accounts and Reporting:
* Prepare and manage final account submissions, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
* Work closely with the project team to resolve any disputes and close out accounts promptly.

Risk Management:
* Identify and manage project risks related to cost, time, and resources.
* Provide advice on mitigating risks throughout the project lifecycle.
Ideal Candidate:

Experience:
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry, specifically on brickwork or masonry-focused projects.
* Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and estimating practices related to brickwork.
* Familiarity with both residential and commercial projects is preferred.

Skills:
* Excellent knowledge of contract management and construction law.
* Proficiency in cost management software (e.g., Excel, Procore, or similar).
* Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications:
* Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
* Chartered status (MRICS) or working towards is desirable but not essential.
