My Client:

My client are the world's leading manufacturer of polyurethane liquid waterproofing membranes and PU Sealant technologies for the construction industry. For nearly 40 years, architects, specifiers and contractors in 65 countries across 5 continents have chosen my client for their product innovation, advanced systems & technologies and world class research & development laboratories. Their range includes liquid roofing systems, polyurethane sealants and adhesives, green roofing solutions, cementitious repair systems, DPM and tanking solutions.



The Role:

For the right person this job will be a stepping stone to senior management or Directorship. You will be part of the team exploring new and existing opportunities, managing sales within the Building industry, contractors, specification & distributors throughout South Wales and west.



Responsibilities of a Business Development Manager:

* Research and identify new business opportunities - including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services - or new ways of reaching existing markets
* Meet with customers/clients face to face or over the phone
* Foster and develop relationships with customers/clients
* Think strategically - seeing the bigger picture and setting aims and objectives in order to develop and improve the business
* Work strategically - carrying out necessary planning in order to implement operational changes
* have a good understanding of the businesses' products or services and be able to advise others about them
* Seek ways of improving the way the business operates



Requirements, the successful applicant will have the following experience and qualifications:

* Excellent previous sales experience with a proven track record
* Knowledge of the construction industry (essential)
* Tenacity and drive
* An excellent telephone manner for making initial contact and for ongoing communication with customers and business associates
* Interpersonal skills for building and developing relationships with clients
* Written and verbal communication skills - needed for communicating with a range of people, both internally and externally, as well as presentation skills
* IT skills, including the use of spreadsheets
* The ability to motivate yourself and set your own goals
* Negotiating skills
* The ability to think strategically
* Ability to analyse sales figures and write reports
