Strong Group are currently looking for a carpenter, on behalf of our client a refurbishment and maintenance specialist. This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of the company multi-disciplined team carrying out refurbishment and maintenance projects across London and the home counties. Clients include NHS Trusts, Primary Care, CBRE, London and Regional Properties and Compass Group. The successful candidate will also need a strong understanding of most general fabric trades such as basic plumbing, painting etc alongside a City and Guilds or NVQ qualification in Carpentry and or Joinery.

Hours of Work
Monday to Friday 08:00am to 16:30pm

Key Responsibilities
Service Delivery Responsibilities Key duties include:
* To carry out all planned building/ fabric work as per specification on quoted projects
* To carry out reactive works to client sites ensuring minimum disruption to services is experienced and to ensure that all reactive calls are closed out within agreed response and rectification times
* Undertake any ad-hoc duties that may be necessary during your working shift e.g. painting and decorating including any preparation works
* Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety legislation and Company policy. (Fire regulations, COSHH, Safe working practices, PPE, PAT testing, etc)
* To maintain high standards of customer care
* To be flexible and undertake other reasonable duties to accommodate operational requirements

Health and Safety Responsibilities
* To adhere safe working practice and procedures and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
* To report to your immediate supervisor anything that might put at risk the health, safety or welfare of yourself, colleagues or visitors.
* To work in a manner conducive to the health and safety of yourself and any other person who may be affected by your acts or omissions at work.
* To ensure that appropriate PPE is always worn whilst on duty.
* To ensure you are familiar with fire procedures of the site you are working at
* The safe & efficient use of cleaning equipment

Qualifications
Time served apprenticeship or equivalent City and Guilds or NVQ qualification in Carpentry and or Joinery. Must possess UK driving license. H+S accreditation e.g, IOSH or NEBOSH certification

Experience
Minimum of 5 years building/ project and building maintenance experience. Experience in managing and prioritising a busy workload. Experience in working within healthcare environments and commercial office buildings

Skills and Abilities
Must be flexible regarding working hours as some work will be weekends and nights Ability to make clear rational decisions, exercising independent judgement in a professional and competent manner. Confident, robust and resilient and with the drive to complete set tasks. Well organised with a professional approach. Ability to present complex information to a range of audiences. Good written and verbal communication skills. Able to carry tools and equipment by hand up to 20kg. Able to ascend/descend vertical access equipment. Able to work at height

Knowledge
Basic mobile phone/ email skills, Microsoft Office Suites e.g, Excel & Word.
