Role: Charity Project Assistant Location: Hitchin/ Remote
Salary: £19 - 21K Pro Rata - 20 Hours per week

REQUIRED: Satisfactory enhanced DBS check and own car and no more than 3 points on licence.

Are you an experienced Project Coordinator/Administrator with experience of working with vulnerable or challenging young people? Are you able to work several evenings per week and occasional weekends to provide organisational support for essential projects?

We are seeking an enthusiastic administrator to take on the Project Assistant role, to support our Project teams working across Milton Keynes, Aylesbury and Hemel Hempstead. You will assist with the organisation of key projects for a vital Children's charity, specifically set up to address the needs of a "lost generation" of 15-25-year-olds, with learning disabilities, mental health & emotional issues, young people leaving care and those at risk of exploitation/offending.
Our Project Assistant will be an excellent organiser, team player and communicator, with a hands-on approach. A key part of the role will be helping to develop stronger links with businesses and the wider community to create opportunities for our young people. You will work from home, from our office in Hitchin and within the community to deliver essential projects.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist the project team to deliver high quality and effective support to our young people who are leaving care to achieve a successful future.
Support volunteers to run effective and creative befriending and mentoring support sessions.
Assist the Project Manager to ensure the integrity and effectiveness of volunteer-based circles and clusters of support for young people leaving care.
Assist with the evaluation, risk assessment and monitoring of all services in line with policies.
Ensuring good administration, record keeping and reporting of all work undertaken in line with data protection and other regulations.
Support marketing, recruitment and development of the project as required.
Support liaison with business partnerships and assist with opportunities for work experience, apprenticeship, employment and next steps education.

Essential Requirements:
Ability to communicate well at all levels (both verbally and in writing), establish and build relationships with colleagues, external contacts and young people
Empathy/Awareness and understanding of the needs, issues, and concerns of young people leaving care and moving towards independence.
Confident in delivery of presentations using means appropriate to audience.
IT literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Power-point. Publisher useful.
Experience of working with vulnerable and/or challenging young people and with volunteers and/or volunteering.
Able to work several evenings per week and occasional weekends
Able to provide a satisfactory enhanced DBS check and a car driver with no more than three points on licence with access to own car
