Class 2 Driver - Plant & Access (32T Beavertail)
Location: Openshaw
Salary: £38,000 per annum
We are seeking a professional and reliable Class 2 Driver to join a rapidly expanding transport operation. This role will primarily focus on plant and access deliveries using a 32T beavertail vehicle, with some crossover onto curtainsider work when required.
This is a same-day delivery environment, so strong time management, clear communication, and a professional attitude are essential.
The Role
*
Carrying out deliveries and collections to and from various business premises
*
Operating a 32T beavertail vehicle for plant and access equipment
*
Occasional curtainsider work when required
*
Completing all delivery and collection documentation accurately
*
Verifying loads and following precise delivery instructions
*
Ensuring goods are loaded and secured safely
*
Driving safely at all times in line with road traffic regulations
*
Communicating clearly with line management regarding delays or incidents
*
Completing regular vehicle inspections
*
Reporting any mechanical issues or defects
*
Maintaining a clean and presentable vehicle
*
Comfortable working in heavy traffic and unsociable hours when required
Key Skills & Experience
*
Valid UK Class 2 (Cat C) licence (no more than 3 points)
*
Valid CPC and medical
*
IPAF certification (in-date preferred)
*
Previous Class 2 driving experience (essential)
*
Experience loading/unloading plant or access equipment
*
Confident using GPS and routing software
*
Strong communication and customer service skills
*
Calm and professional under pressure
*
Takes pride in their work and presentation
IPAF:
Candidates with IPAF already in date are highly desirable. However, we are happy to fund an IPAF refresher for the right candidate.
