Our client is an independent systems integrator, providing bespoke, high quality industrial control systems primarily to the manufacturing industry.

They offer a turnkey service including electrical design, software, manufacture, installation and commissioning with ongoing system support.

They are looking to recruit a Controls Workshop and Site Technician

Job Description: Controls Workshop and Site Technician
Controls Workshop and Site Technician Purpose: To build, test, install, commission, modify and maintain electrical control systems.

Controls Workshop and Site Technician - Customer Site Responsibilities and Duties:
Under the direction of the Directors and/or Project Engineers:
* To carry out site surveys;
* To carry out installation for smaller projects;
* To oversee sub-contracted installation teams on larger projects, including monitoring visits (in conjunction with Directors and Project Engineers);
* To carry out commissioning on projects (in conjunction with Directors and Project Engineers);
* To carry out modification and maintenance work on existing systems (including software under guidance);
* To maintain a tidy and safe working environment;
* To follow company Health and Safety Policy and associated risk assessments and method statements;
* To undertake any tasks as may be reasonably directed by the Directors.

Controls Workshop and Site Technician - Workshop Responsibilities and Duties:
Under direction of the Directors and/or Project Engineers:
* To assemble, wire-check and test electrical control panels;
* To duplicate and modify electrical circuit diagrams using CAD or similar software;
* To maintain a tidy and safe working environment;
* To follow company Health and Safety Policy and associated risk assessments and method statements;
* To undertake any tasks as may be reasonably directed by the Directors.

An additional £4,250 is payable per annum for the following duties which can be included within the role after
training:
Telephone and Online Support Responsibilities and Duties (including out of hours):
Every third week including weekends:
* To provide telephone support and advice to assist customer's shift supervisors and maintenance
personnel with system fault diagnostics;
* To undertake remote online access to customer's systems to support fault diagnostics;
* To perform minor online modifications to customer's systems in order to rectify a fault;
* To contact the Technical Director if a fault cannot be resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
An initial telephone response must be provided within one hour. Whilst we cannot guarantee the frequency of
calls due to the nature of this requirement, currently the average number of phone calls is 4-5 per week.
Flexibility will ensure that these duties do not conflict with annual leave and, whilst it cannot be guaranteed, every attempt will be made to ensure they do not conflict with a significant personal event.
