Experienced Design Engineer required for a professional and innovative mechanical handling equipment manufacturer who specialise in the nuclear industry. This is a great opportunity to join an internationally recognised company who are well established and have a company history of 45 years.

The Design Engineer role would suit mechanically biased engineers from a projects or design background with 3D design experience. You will ideally have experience of using Inventor or SolidWorks and candidates from a background of working with any type of machinery design are encouraged to apply. This role would suit candidates with experience running projects and is able to carry out hand calculations.

The role itself is split 50:50 between project management and design. You will work within a small team and will take ownership of your own projects. You will be responsible for putting together technical documentation including BOMs and QA documentation.

The role is very customer facing as you will be responsible for ensuring customer requirements are met. You will also be responsible for liaising with suppliers. On the design side, you will be responsible for creating bespoke 3D designs using Autodesk Inventor.

The Design Engineer Role:

· 50:50 project management and design
· Designing manufacturing drawings for a range of bespoke mechanical handling equipment using 3D Autodesk Inventor.
· Seeing project through from concept into manufacture to final testing/commissioning
· Produce technical and QA documentation
· Training on the company's products and 3D CAD software
· Hand Calculations

The Design Engineer Candidate:

· Mechanical Engineering background
· Will have 3D CAD experience - Ideally have Inventor or SolidWorks experience
· Experience running projects
· Able to carry out hand calculations
