Park Enforcement Officers
Salary: £25,000 per annum
This is a fantastic opportunity for two Parks Enforcement Officers to be part of the new Community Safety Accreditation Scheme (CSAS) in conjunction with Thames Valley Police.
Ideally you will already have experience of enforcement duties or the deployment of statutory powers. Your primary role will be to discourage and tackle anti-social behaviour that spoils the enjoyment of other visitors and residents or that damage our land such as: littering, fly tipping, graffiti, unauthorised events and large gatherings, dog fouling, sheep worrying, illicit camping and incursions.
Much of your work will be giving advice to people but from time to time you will be expected to issue Penalty Charge Notices and take other enforcement action.
Help ensure the parks remain safe and attractive places to visit
Provide a high profile and visible presence in the parks including at weekends, evenings and bank holidays to deter anti-social behaviour
Respond appropriately to incidents, emergencies and anti-social behaviour, taking enforcement actions as required
Maintain a high standard of presentation of the Parks Trust's Green Estate assisting with litter and fly tipping clearance
Build and maintain a strong and positive reputation for the Trust.
The successful candidate will have
Full driving licence (vehicle will be provided)
Excellent verbal communication
Experience of dealing with the public particularly in enforcement duties or the deployment of statutory powers
Experience of gathering evidence and writing reports
A calm and composed manner and the ability to be persuasive and authoritative.
You will be employed on an annualised hours contract, working:
30 hours per week October-March
45 hours per week April-September
This will include regular weekend, evening and bank holiday work. Shifts will vary so flexibility for the role is essential.
The successful candidate will be required to complete police vetting and appropriate Community Safety Accreditation Scheme (CSAS) training.
Failure to pass or complete the vetting process or CSAS training course will result in termination of the employment contract. Applicants are required to provide a five-year history of addresses and employment history with no gaps.
