Job Title: Construction Estimator

Salary: £50,000 - £80,000 (dependent on experience)

Hours of Work: 8.15am - 5pm
Strong Group are currently working with a leading construction firm renowned for delivering high-quality projects across the UK in various sectors to values of up to £30M.
Job Summary: Our client is seeking a meticulous and experienced Construction Estimator to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects, analysing plans and specifications, and collaborating with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure successful project completion.
Key Responsibilities:
* Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
* Tendering: Manage the tendering process, including preparing and issuing tender documents, evaluating bids, and negotiating contracts.
* Budgeting: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring costs are controlled and project financial objectives are met.
* Analysis: Analyse project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine project requirements and identify cost-saving opportunities.
* Reporting: Produce detailed and accurate reports for management, outlining cost estimates, project progress, and financial performance.
* Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients to ensure accurate and timely delivery of estimates.
* Compliance: Ensure all estimates comply with relevant regulations, standards, and company policies.
* Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
* The ability to price from first principles would be advantageous
Qualifications:
* Education: A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field would be preferable
* Experience: Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably within UK-based Main Contracting
* Skills:
* Proficient in estimating software.
* Strong analytical and numerical skills.
* Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
* Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
* Knowledge: In-depth understanding of construction methods, materials, and legal requirements.
