Executive Assistant to the Board
£17.00 per hour

Our client has been established in their industry for a number of years and are renowned for providing high quality governance support and executive clerking services to a range of educational settings throughout the North of England. They are currently recruiting for an experienced Personal Assistant or Executive Assistant to apply for the role of Governance Professional. 

As a Governance Professional you will be providing high quality administrative support to schools and school trust governing boards. You will need to have experience in taking minutes in a senior and formal environment for several years (eg. board minutes). You will be a confident and professional communicator that can offer a high level of professional credibility in a senior Educational environment. 


  • Working with schools and trust boards to provide high quality administrative support. 
  • Taking accurate minutes in formal board meeting settings. 
  • Maintenance of records relating to board members and school leaders. 
  • Providing procedural advice to governing board and school leaders.
  • High levels of self motivation and organisation (some home based working) 
  • Confident, professional communication (verbal and written) 
  • Flexibility in schedule to accommodate a varied work schedule.  
  • To advise the board on its roles and responsibilities in line with relevant legislation and procedural matters where necessary (full training is provided). 
  • To assist with the maintenance of the register of board member pecuniary interests and declarations. 
  • To keep up to date with current educational developments and legislation affecting school governance. 
  • To attend CPD sessions at least once per term. 

You will be expected to travel around West Yorkshire to meetings at various locations so applicants must have you own transport. Meetings generally take place in the late afternoon/evening and last up to 3 hours. All other administrative work is done from home. 

The successful applicant will be fully trained and continued professional development is provided. 


Part time. Average of minimum of 10 hours per week, term time only (minimum 390 hours per annum), Flexibility in schedule is essential.
