Front End Developer
This is a brand new opportunity for a Front End leaning Developer using VueJS to work alongside colleagues (in a SaaS product environment) and envision/engineer a new, centralised, modern browser-rendered experience for a customer base of almost 1,500 global businesses.
The company has established an impressive market share with their innovative platform - which is now progressing from MVP stage to a fully refactored and scalable build, over the next 12 months.
They are looking for a Front-End focused Developer (ideally with at least some exposure to or understanding of PHP as well) who will:
Create solutions within an organised & genuinely friendly team.
Focus on scalable architecture, deployment tools and future-proofing
Work with technologies such as VueJS, and occasionally some PHP/Laravel
Enjoy pension, bonus, flexible working, gym membership and more.
What makes this role stand out?
It's very rare that we come across a company that is so well-organised and ready to expand their in-house team. Our normal experience is one of fire-fighting and chaos (!) which is most certainly not the case here. The team are highly cooperative and supportive with a well-maintained codebase.
The founder is an incredibly down to earth and open-minded CEO with a background in Product & Tech - allowing him to easily handle technical discussions and assist with conceptual/architectural thinking. The team are an equally wonderful group of people with their office both well situated and modern. All staff are currently remote and remote working has always been an option for all employees.
Current stack and upcoming projects.
Your earliest weeks/months will be spent working alongside the existing team who have managed to create a very impressive and functional MVP which is already used by over one thousand clients worldwide and is thoroughly documented. The core codebase also benefits from full version control and CI (Git). Your immediate goal will be to fully immerse yourself in the codebase and begin to contribute to Front End architectural decisions, taking ownership of key elements of roadmap requirements.
Stack & technologies:
The new build will likely be done in VueJS. OO PHP & Laravel, but your personal focus will mostly be Vue/HTML/CSS.
You will work alongside the team to visualise, architect and create a highly scalable and bespoke v 2.0 of their SaaS offering - moving away from reliance upon 3rd party platforms and/or CMS's. There will continue to be significant and further integrations with the likes of Xero and Quickbooks - working towards an eventual company exit strategy over the coming years and the release of an open API.
Ideal experience (not all essential):
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed developer who wants to progress and help to grow the business. We want to work with like-minded people who set high standards for themselves and are passionate about the work that they produce.
Please see below some of your key responsibilities, and the ideal knowledge/previous experience we're hoping to find. Naturally, don't worry if you can't tick every one of these boxes! It's far more important for us to find a talented Engineer with the mind of a Computer Scientist than it is to worry about one specific stack or language.
Significant experience building web applications in popular front end/back end technologies.
Experience working with HTML 5, CSS, JS, Vue (or similar)
Experience working with version control (Git) would be ideal.
Experience working with 3rd party APIs.
Any experience of working with the FinTech sector would be of great interest - although not at all essential.
