My client is a rapidly growing Insurance business in Manchester city centre. With ambitious plans for the future and a super flexible culture, this is a highly attractive opportunity with excellent progression opportunities.

The aim of this role is to monitor and evaluate risk exposure across the Group, and provide Boards and senior leadership across the Group with accurate and timely management information.

To be successful in this role, you'll need to have:

* Up-to-date knowledge of trends in the insurance industry relevant to Risk Management and Corporate Governance requirements
* Solid understanding of FCA rules, regulations, principles and codes of practice
* Demonstrable Risk Management experience with commercial and strategic awareness

Responsibilities:

* Preparation, review and submission of monthly, quarterly and annual Board, Audit Committee and Management risk reporting
* Balance sheet analysis, providing challenge and oversight of management's solvency methodologies, across the Group
* Act as the Risk Management SME in relation to issues and risks associated with Solvency and the ORSA process
* Provide specialist Risk Management support leading to the identification and assessment of risks and risk controls across the business, required to meet strategic goals.
* Develop new reports and reporting options in the Risk Management system to provide greater analysis of information, and to make use (including extraction of information) easier for users.
* Primary point of contact for questions relating to the Risk Management System, and to serve as the primary administrator of the system.
* Support Group companies and relevant operational departments to embed Risk Management within business processes and ensure they are appropriately owned and controlled
* Raise awareness of the benefits of effective Risk Management throughout Group companies
* Develop and maintain suitable Key Control Indicators, regularly reviewing risk controls for suitability and effectiveness
* Monitoring Board approved Risk Appetite and that Tolerances are adhered to by management

Skills, knowledge & experience:

* Demonstrable Risk Management experience and evidence of proven career track record and consistent record of achievement
* Solid understanding of FCA rules, regulations, principles and codes of practice
* Up-to-date knowledge of trends in the insurance industry relevant to Risk Management and Corporate Governance requirements
* Project management experience
* Experienced in building relationships with senior management
* Influencing and networking with senior people to achieve consensus and collaboration
* Specialist technical knowledge of risk management techniques
* Personal impact in business and technical discussions at all levels
* Knowledge of best practice in risk, business continuity and corporate governance Resilient to challenge from senior levels whilst building and maintaining relationships
* Capacity and credibility to assess risk MI and where appropriate recommend/negotiate the continuance/closedown of business decisions.
