Head Buyer required for an industry leading manufacturer with quality truly at the heart of what they do. This company are committed to the development of their staff and can offer CIPS qualifications along with scope for further progression within the business.

 

To apply for this role, you will be experienced within procurement and hold experience using an ERP system. Candidates from any industry background are encouraged to apply however this role would particularly suit candidates with experience working with short lead times. You will ideally have a minimum of CIPS Level 5 however candidates working towards this are encouraged to apply.

 

Working closely with the Head of Procurement, the Head Buyer will oversee an annual budget of £30,000,000 and will play a pivotal role in defining and improving the department’s procurement strategies. The company currently work within a 24 hour lead time so forecasting and planning is key within this position.

 

The Head Buyer Role:

· Take a lead role in procurement planning and forecasting

· Develop and improve procurement strategies to improve efficiency

· Analyse the day-to-day requirements of manufacturing sites in both UK and USA

· Conduct regular reviews of contracts with suppliers to ensure continued competitiveness and value

 

The Head Buyer Candidate:

· Experienced procurement professional

· Experience using ERP system

· Supervisory/managerial experience would be advantageous

· Strategic sourcing and category management experience

· Any industry background – manufacturing preferable

· Able to work to tight deadlines

· Confident liaising and negotiating with suppliers
