The Company

A well-established and growing M&E contractor delivering mechanical and electrical projects across commercial, industrial and mixed-use sectors.

With annual turnover exceeding £60m and projects ranging from £1m-£20m (with capability up to £30m), the business has built a strong reputation for integrity, technical expertise and long-term client relationships.

Due to continued growth and internal development, they are looking to appoint a Mechanical Estimator to join their Birmingham office.

The Role

You will manage the full tender lifecycle - from document review through to submission and post-tender analysis - working within a collaborative estimating team.

The role offers progression and the opportunity to take ownership of tenders, with the expectation of leading bids as you develop within the team.

Responsibilities:

Prepare detailed mechanical cost estimates and tender submissions
*

Analyse technical drawings and specifications
*

Price both Plan & Spec and Design & Build projects
*

Identify commercial risks and propose value engineering solutions
*

Liaise with supply chain partners and subcontractors
*

Attend pre-tender and post-tender meetings
*

Manage 1-2 live tenders concurrently (plus TQs)
*

Work closely with senior management and project teams

What They're Looking For

*

Experience producing mechanical cost estimates within building services
*

Understanding of mechanical systems and construction processes
*

Experience working on projects typically £1m+ in value
*

Comfortable working within a team environment
*

Ability to lead tenders with support
*

Strong commercial awareness and organisational skills
*

Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office
*

Relevant mechanical/building services qualifications (or equivalent experience)

Salary & Package

The business is open to different levels of experience:

*

Junior Estimator: £26k - £35k
*

Intermediate Estimator: £38k - £52k
*

Senior Estimator: £55k - £75k
