The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer role will suit mechanically biased candidates with experience in food manufacturing. Candidates will hold an Apprenticeship or equivalent. General mechanical experience as well as hydraulics and pneumatics is needed for the role. Basic electrical skills are also a requirement.
The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer role involves repair of food manufacturing machinery. Equipment includes thermoformers, metal detectors and checkweighers. The role involves primarily mechanical work on gearboxes, bearings, shafts, pipes, pumps and welding as well as some work on hydraulics and pneumatics. The role will also involve some installation work as well as projects when required. The company run a preventative maintenance schedule with breakdown work occasionally occurring.
