Job Title: Mechanical Estimator / Project Manager
Location: Midlands-based with occasional nationwide travel
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Overview:
An established and growing mechanical and electrical contractor is looking to expand its mechanical operations across the facilities maintenance and commercial sectors. They are seeking a capable and experienced Mechanical Estimator / Project Manager to support tendering, project delivery, and team development.
The business works across multiple sectors including commercial, regeneration/social housing, PPM, and rail, with most projects based in the Midlands but some nationwide.
Key Responsibilities:
*Build and maintain relationships with new and existing clients, identifying suitable tender opportunities
*Prepare accurate and competitive mechanical tender submissions and quotations
*Meet tender deadlines while adapting to changes and providing value-engineered alternatives
*Oversee contract management including procurement, labour, and materials within budget
*Attend site and client meetings as required
*Prepare and issue valuations in line with project requirements
*Contribute to maintaining accreditations and company compliance standards
*Support health & safety, quality, and delivery across mechanical installations
*Develop and manage site-based teams and supervisors
Ideal Candidate Profile:
*Time-served mechanical engineer with well-rounded industry knowledge in both domestic and commercial sectors
*Strong estimating and contract/project management experience
*Confident working independently and as part of a wider operational team
*Good understanding of health, safety, and environmental legislation*
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications & Competencies:
*Unvented Hot Water Storage Systems
*Gas Safety Competencies (Domestic & Commercial):
*Domestic: CCN1, CENWAT, CDGA1, CIGA1, CORT1, CoNGLP1 (PD)
*Commercial: COCN1, BMP1, ICPN1, TPCP1, TPCP1A
*City & Guilds 2382 - 17th Edition Wiring Regulations
*Valid CSCS card
*Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
