Henderson Brown are partnered with a global manufacturing business who are recruiting for a Multi Skilled Engineer to join their tight knit engineering team local to Wellingborough, Northamptonshire.
The role will involve you providing both electrical and mechanical engineering support across the manufacturing facility and you will have the opportunity to work on an array of equipment and machinery. As the sole engineer on shift, you will have full responsibility of carrying out reactive and preventative maintenance, so it's imperative that you relish autonomy and responsibility.
The role will require you to work a 4 on 4 off shift pattern that includes days and nights as well as the requirement for on call duties (1-2 times per month) which is paid at a premium.
Duties of the Multi Skilled Engineer:
*Respond and attend to breakdowns and carry out accurate repairs
*Carry out day to day preventative maintenance tasks
*Carry out mechanical and electrical fault-finding tasks
*Perform high quality root cause analysis for technical and process problems
*Maintain the plant maintenance system
*Make suggestions and get involved in continual process quality improvement.
*Liaise with contractors when necessary
*Ensuring that all delegated electrical/mechanical maintenance is performed with full regard to product safety and quality and employee Health and Safety.
Experience required for the Multi Skilled Engineer:
*Previous engineering experience within an FMCG environment is essential
*Both mechanical and electrical skills with the relevant qualifications e.g., 18th Edition, HND in Engineering etc
*A team player who can work collaboratively with the wider team and make sensible engineering decisions with speed.
*Creative problem solving and continuous improvement mindset along with a strong ability to fault diagnose with clear understanding of Root Cause Analysis.
