I'm currently working with a Lloyds of London syndicate offering insurance products across multiple lines of business, including Terror and War; Cargo and Marine; and Property, Commercial and Specialty re(insurance). This business is growing rapidly and is forward thinking in how it wants to utilise data, intelligent automation and human expertise to allow them to make smart decisions quickly.

As Operations Manager you will be taking responsibility for the Delegated Underwriting Authority, Underwriting management and operations of their syndicate, working closely with the Head of Operations & Underwriting Management. This role will have exposure to all the Heads of Divisions and their teams, and be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day running operations.

Key responsibilities:

* This role holes strategic and regulatory accountability so requires demonstrable experience in being an influential leader.
* Developing a strong understanding of all aspects of the syndicate, you will establish a monitoring and supervision framework.
* Manage outsources UW support team and deliver standardisation across processes for all business lines.
* With significant growth expected in years to come, you will be responsible for ensuring the structure of the team is aligned to wider growth plans while delivering excellent standards of support to stakeholders and revising any processes that don't deliver operational support outputs to the standard set by the relevant Head of division.
* Ensure all underwriting Policies and Procedures align with current FCA regulations and Lloyds requirements.
* Review and improve Management information (MI) data produced by the underwriting systems.
* Embody internal values and ensure the highest standard of work is delivered consistently.
* Act as a coach and mentor to team members.
* As leader of the team you are responsible for delegating day-to-day activities, service delivery and timelines.

Skills & experience:

* Ability to lead a team effectively to achieving determined goals.
* Demonstrable gravitas and interpersonal skills for dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
* Commercially minded and aware of how you can influence and enhance business profitability.
* Knowledge of the legal, regulatory and compliance provisions applicable to operating in the Lloyds insurance market.
* Experience with underwriting and operations management within a Lloyd's syndicate environment.
