Production Coordinator

Salary - circa £28k

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Production Coordinator to join a family-owned business based in Sheffield. They are a leading equipment supplier in their industry, from concept, design and manufacturing, through to the Global distribution of their brands.

We are looking for someone who is adaptable and happy working on their own, in a team and communicating with people at all levels. This is an exciting opportunity for the right person who wants to progress and make an impact on the business and deliver instant results and improvements.

Responsibilities:

To ensure the smooth flow of Purchase Orders from suppliers into the UK and European warehouses, ensuring that delays are challenged and communicated, and relevant systems are maintained accurately and in a timely manner.

Duties:

  • Proactively chase suppliers (predominantly Far East), ensuring Purchase Orders are delivered on-time and in full.
  • Challenge the suppliers on any delays and ensure the management team are aware of delays on business-critical products.
  • Enter Purchase Orders on the Sage system and ensure accurate dates are maintained on the system.
  • Work with the Supply Chain Manager and the European team, ensuring PO’s are split between the warehouses in a timely and effective manner.
  • Ensure the UK and EU stocks are balanced, depending on demand.
  • Work closely with suppliers and our freight forwarders, ensuring that container space is maximised, and containers are booked in a timely manner and orders are prioritised.
  • Work with our freight forwarders, ensuring inbound bookings are coordinated with the warehouse team.
  • Ensure shipping documents are forward to the relevant teams.
  • Create and issue relevant stock/arrival reports and work closely with the Supply Chain Manager to ensure reports are accurate and sent in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and report the landed costs per container, ensuring the Sage system is updated with any discrepancies.

An ideal candidate will have come from a manufacturing industry in a similar role, be driven, personable, have fantastic attention to detail and used to working to tight deadlines and a critical path.
