Company client has requirement for a Production Planner/Project Manager/Progress Chaser to be based in Gosport, Hampshire.

Candidates will be considered from Aircraft, Automotive, Rail or any good Engineering background.

Contract is for 6 months Fixed Term Assignment direct with our client.

Per Annum - £28,000 - £32,000 - PAYE.

The successful candidate does not necessarily require engine experience, must have skills on working between the Shop Floor and Management to progress chase.


Purpose of the role:

The Production Control Planner will be required to plan and manage multiple engine / engine module repair schedules, and report on the various stages of the repair cycle, ensuring that all relevant departments, including Customer Services and Logistics are updated on progress and maintenance issues etc.


This role will also hold the additional responsibilities of ensuring that KPI’s and the business MRP system are accurately maintained along with controlling the issue and receipt of documents and reports used to process engines / modules through the engine shop and test facilities.


Key responsibilities and duties:

Produce a comprehensive Production Plan which schedules engines/modules and manages dates on order/tasks through the various departments to meet or exceed customer requirements.

Produce comprehensive planning, forecasting and technical support to minimise overtime in the production activities.

Prepare and suggest detailed repair/recovery action plans for consideration with Operational Managers.

Customise the production plan and project plans in close liaison with production, engineering, and logistic support.

Make effective and practical recommendations/decisions based on analysis and experience to schedule shop workload appropriately in line with resources and customer demand.

Contribute to production planning meetings and follow-up on actions raised, keep appropriate parties informed of progress and production related issues arising.

Promote (Lean) practices and continuous improvement to improve any area of the Production Plan and Turn Round Time/OTD.

Establish and maintain efficient lines of communication between related Company departments including Engine Shop, Repair Services, Material Control, and Customer Service to achieve the primary goal of meeting the Customer requirement; Conduct all work in accordance with company policies, health and safety procedures, quality procedures, manufacturers and customer specification and industry regulations.

Complete all documents related to the work being performed.

Carry out any other duties required within the capability of the jobholder.

Familiarity with aerospace quality procedures and documentation including process documentation, parts routing procedures, Engineering Repair Instructions, Detailed Work Instructions and Non-Conformance Report system.
Proficient in the use of computers, familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and integrated systems; Local ERP and any other business platforms.
Ability to maintain focus with a strong ability to manage priorities in a busy environment.
A working knowledge of engine publications and work instructions including overhaul and maintenance manuals, parts catalogues and service bulletins is desirable.
Financial Planning Knowledge is desirable.


Organisational Relationships:
Key relationships with Operational Managers; Team Leaders. CS, Engineering, Logistics.
Internal relationships within the engine shop, production, engineering, and logistic support staff.

 
Experience Qualifications/Education and Training:
Experience of project planning and production scheduling; Project Management.
Competent in the use of Microsoft Office, especially Excel; Projects, VISIO other platforms that will benefit improvements (Power BI).
Ability to plan, prioritise and organise own workload.
Able to suggest improvements for change, innovative ideas, and problem-solving approach.
High level of customer and commercial focus.
Able to work flexibly to the needs of the business.
