Purchasing Assistant

Salary £26000 to £30000 depending on skills and knowledge. Flexi working. Monday to Friday 40 hour week - together with an excellent benefits package offering a range of benefits including up to 10 extra days holiday and childcare benefits
Our established product supply company are looking for an experienced Purchasing Assistant to join their team. You will be joining an established company suppling products to a wide mix of retail and wholesale customers. Car owner driver due to location - parking on site.
Required Experience:
Experience using ERP systems and software to produce the purchase orders daily.
Purchasing/buying experience preferred.
Being able to identify when the opportunity to add value arises.
Working in a fast-paced business environment
Training on products will be given.
Able to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.
Attention to detail.
Problem-solving and critical thinking
Good negotiation skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
Customer service skills
Weekly Tasks:
Ensuring we have sufficient stock coming into the business considering any outstanding orders and current sales demand by extracting the purchasing report daily.
Resourcing all products that do not meet the customer’s promised date. Ensuring all alternatives and information is documented on our ERP system to ensure seamless customer service experience.
Actively pursuing late products, chasing and expediting late deliveries from suppliers to maintain an efficient and reliable supply chain.
Covering other tasks and responsibilities in the Purchasing department when there is a business need.

Purchase orders do not build up for more than 3 days.
98% of products resourced within 24 hours.
