Quality Engineer (QA / QC)


£48,000 + 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holiday + Pension

Days, 39 hour working week (08:00 – 4.30, Mon – Fri)

Quality Engineer required by a well-established CNC machining company in Manchester to join their QA team. This is a varied and interesting role with a stable company.

Your main aim will be to ensure that quality proceedures and work instructions are followed and correct for purpose.

As this company has clients in various sectors such as oil and gas, construction and the nuclear sector, no 2 days of work will ever be the same.

The Quality Engineer Role:

•             Review customer drawings and specifications.
•             Ensure job route sheets capture all the necessary inspection requirements.
•             Communicate quality requirements to all production departments.
•             Random checking of inspection to ensure compliance with drawings and part reports.
•             Issuing customer “Notifications of Inspection”.
•             Liaising with the customer during 3rd party witness points.
•             Attending to customer non-conformity reports (NCR’s) and responding directly to the client with corrective actions. Root cause analysis and implementing corrective & preventative actions.
•             Liaising with document control to ensure the document packs are being compiled correctly.
•             Attending customer quality meetings.
•             Provide support to new process development activities.
•             Helping to facilitate continuous improvement across all activities through training and communication of quality initiatives.

The Quality Engineer:

•             Experienced Quality / QA / QC Engineer
•             Computer Literate, familiar with MS Office Applications
•             Experience of non-conformance investigations + reports
•             Knowledge/experience of measurement & technical report writing
•             Ability to influence individuals and teams to achieve desired goals and objectives
•             Will ideally hold an HND or equivalent
•             ISO Auditor Qualifications ideally
