Design Engineer (Scaffolding/Temporary Works)

Based from offices in either: Glasgow, Kings Cross, London, Deeside or Home Working is available.

£23,000 to £55,500 DOE + 20 days Holiday plus 3 days taken over Christmas period + Bank Holidays + Pension

Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours per day (Flexible hours).

Design Engineer required for an Engineering Design Consultancy specialising in temporary construction works. The company offer a varied role and generous remuneration package. You will be responsible for a team of 6 in a hands on leadership role.

The successful Design Engineer will have a background within Construction, Civils, Structural or Geotechnical works. Those with experience working on temporary works or scaffold design will be at an advantage. You will have knowledge of quality standards and other specialist documentation. You will be IT literate and will have proficient experience with CAD. Those with Experience of 3D/2D structural analysis software, have chartership and/or experience working with main contractors will be at a significant advantage. Those who have worked as a CAD Technician within this sector are also encouraged to apply.

The Design Engineer Role:

•          Occasional travel to sites and London.
•          Design engineering solutions for a range of standard, complex and bespoke projects.
•          Providing support to engineering teams nationwide with design and draughting.
•          Preparation of clear and well-structured design calculations and reports.
•          Handling multiple projects at one time.
•          Working individually on smaller projects, or as part of a team on larger more complex projects.
•          Maintenance of project documentation records.
•          Liaising with clients to understand their specific requirements.
•          Building lasting relationships with clients based on understanding and service.
•          Preparation of clear and well-structured design calculations and reports.
•          Ensure design risks are considered and prepare design risk assessments.

The Successful Design Engineer:

•          Background within Temporary works/Scaffolding, Structural or Geotechnical works.
