Job Title: Senior Mechanical Estimator
Location: West London
Salary: £80,000 - £90,000
Overview: A highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Estimator is needed to undertake a crucial role, demonstrating extensive knowledge in mechanical and electrical systems, general building, fitting out, estimating, pre-construction management, commercial management, contract and construction management, and technical services. Expertise in mechanical packages such as ventilation, air conditioning, and plumbing is essential.

Responsibilities:
*
Prepare, settle, and submit tenders, ensuring a solid cost base and minimized risks in line with company procedures.
*
Obtain multiple quotes to ensure accurate market costs and identify opportunities at the tender stage.
*
Engage in negotiations with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers, maintaining strong professional relationships.
*
Direct and liaise with staff in preconstruction and estimating phases, ensuring clear and concise tender handovers with transparent risks and opportunities.
*
Assist in developing and implementing estimation software and a library of pre-construction information.
*
Prepare tender settlement documents and assist with project costing and estimating efficiency.
*
Implement client policies and procedures across various domains including HR, IT, health and safety, environmental issues, communications, and branding.
*
Develop and manage a reliable supply chain and assist with the training and development of junior staff.
Key Duties:

Comply with and develop client policies, including those covering tender review, estimating, procurement, tender settlement, and project completion.

Prepare accurate cost estimates and present commercial aspects of the tender for internal approval.

Review proposed contracts to ensure they are fair and identify any non-standard clauses.

Support engineering and commercial teams in preparing subcontract and material enquiries.
Requirements:

Proven experience in cost control and budget management within mechanical contracting.

Strong knowledge and understanding of construction management principles.
*
Familiarity with contract negotiation and administration.
*
Ability to analyze project specifications and provide accurate estimates.
