My client is a Specialty insurer based in the City of London who are going through rapid growth and are in the market seeking a Underwriting Operations Technician to join their Underwriting Team.

They are looking for someone to support the oversight of their underwriting management functions and Underwriting Governance.

Role:

* Oversee adherence to underwriting controls and exceptions.
* Support and assist queries related to underwriting procedures.
* Collate and maintain the underwriting exceptions ruleset.
* Regularly review and enhance exception rules to meet market and regulatory needs.
* Assist in producing syndicate returns in line with regulatory reporting timetables.
* Prepare meeting packs and timely reports for committee and internal deadlines.
* Support the enhancement of Management Information (MI) standards and recommend system improvements.
* Administer and issue underwriting licenses.

Skills Needed:

* Experience in underwriting or operations within a Lloyd's Syndicate or Managing Agent.
* Familiarity with underwriting systems, management information, and reporting.
* Awareness of regulatory and compliance provisions relevant to the insurance market.
* Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills for cultivating and sustaining value-adding relationships.
* Demonstrate effective communication skills to convey a clear sense of purpose and confidence with internal and external stakeholders.
* Comfortably handle difficult conversations and articulate the essence of mutually beneficial relationships.
