Warehouse Logistics Team Supervisor - Tamworth - Salary dependant on experience but after qualifying experience we are looking at £35000 after probationary period + Benefits including a yearly £1610 lunch allowance paid monthly.

This right person for this role would be someone who has logistics and transport supervisor experience who is looking at making the next step up to management. My client wants someone with experience but is looking to train them in the companies culture and their way of doing things. They are not looking for someone who has all the know how, the department isn't broken and doesn't needs fixing it need someone to continue the company culture.
The main objective of the role is as follows:
To lead the teams of people and co-ordinate activities to achieve business performance; through focusing on continuous improvement and promoting a culture of employee engagement.
Key tasks involve after training
To be the first point of contact for the control of the overall warehouse operation within the shift
To identify issues and opportunities for continuous improvements
Ensure that all staff are trained to carry out their role effectively and efficiently
Ensure all operational work is carried out in an incident free environment and all warehouse staff strictly follow H&S rules
Generating periodic reports based on analytic data
Creation of new and improved, documentation and implementation of internal processes and procedures
To learn, fully understand and work within our core value' adopting lean management principles and approach
Responsible for the welfare and management of approximately 40 -70 employees
Develop and maintain appropriate daily, weekly and monthly reporting mechanisms to monitor, control and improve performance
- both operationally and financially
Lead daily team meetings
Manage the allocation of work on a daily basis, controlling headcount and overtime budgets and ensuring cost, quality and
delivery targets met
Promote flexibility through skills training and personal development.
Monitor team absence and performance, taking action where necessary.
Create and maintain an employee engagement culture, encouraging involvement from all team members
Demonstrable experience within a warehouse logistics discipline
Have the ability to analyse and interpret data with strong attention to detail
Excellent communication and coordination skills
Have the ability to influence others
IT literate particularly with Microsoft Office packages
Knowledge of Warehouse logistics IT system handling
To have a good understanding of Supply Chain Principles
Strong organisation and time management skills
Have a 'hands-on' approach with self-starting ability and inquisitive nature
Automotive background preferred but not essential
This role will operate on a afternoon shift basis. Starting at 14.00 until 22.30 with a 1/2 lunch break.
