The Company
Due to continued growth within its Electrical Division, our client is expanding its project delivery team and is looking to recruit an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join its North-East operation based from its Leeds office.
This is a newly created position, offering the opportunity to manage a diverse portfolio of electrical operational maintenance, remedial works, lifecycle replacements and capital projects across the region.
The Role
Reporting to the Framework Manager / Senior Project Manager, you'll take ownership of an annual project portfolio worth in excess of £1.5 million, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
The role offers full project lifecycle responsibility, from enquiry and handover through to completion and client sign-off, whilst managing engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and key client stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage an annual electrical project portfolio valued at £1.5m+
* Deliver operational maintenance, remedial, lifecycle replacement and CAPEX projects
* Manage projects from enquiry and handover through to completion and close-out
* Plan and coordinate labour, materials, subcontractors and suppliers
* Deliver projects safely in accordance with SHEQ procedures
* Ensure compliance with client specifications, contractual obligations and technical standards
* Monitor project costs, revenue, programme, margins and overall commercial performance
* Identify project risks, variations, opportunities and compensation events where applicable
* Produce accurate project reporting including programme updates, cost reports and KPIs
* Lead client meetings, progress reviews and operational communications
* Ensure RAMS, permits, site documentation and project records are maintained
* Support technical problem solving and project escalation where required
* Promote continuous improvement, quality and customer satisfaction throughout project delivery
About You
You'll have a strong background delivering electrical projects and be confident managing multiple stakeholders whilst maintaining programme, commercial and safety performance.
Essential
* Recognised Electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3, Apprenticeship, HNC/HND or Degree)
* 3-5 years' experience in electrical project delivery, site management or contract delivery
* Strong technical understanding of electrical installations and safe systems of work
* Experience managing project budgets, programmes, labour and subcontractors
* Commercial awareness including cost management, change control and variations
* Excellent client-facing communication and stakeholder management skills
* Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams
* Competent using Microsoft Office and project reporting software
* Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable
* HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering
* Water, utilities or industrial infrastructure experience
* PPM and remedial maintenance experience
* CAPEX project delivery
* NEC3 / NEC4 contract knowledge
* LV or HV systems knowledge
* MEICA project experience
* 18th Edition and/or Inspection & Testing qualifications
