Overview
On behalf of our client, a leading independent building contractor known for delivering comprehensive Building, Mechanical & Electrical, and Maintenance solutions, we are seeking an experienced M&E Estimator.
Our client is dedicated to enhancing and maintaining some of London's most prestigious buildings and heritage assets. The successful candidate will work on a diverse portfolio of refurbishment, maintenance and development projects, typically ranging from £100k to £2m in value.
Role Summary
The M&E Estimator will join an established pre-construction team consisting of a Contract Manager, two Construction Estimators and a Quantity Surveyor. This role requires strong experience in mechanical and electrical estimating, the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously and a keen eye for detail to produce accurate and competitive cost estimates.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare and submit budget estimates for mechanical and electrical packages.

Analyse drawings, specifications and technical documents to produce detailed M&E cost estimates.

Liaise with contractors, engineers, suppliers and architects throughout the estimating process.

Utilise market intelligence and historical data to prepare accurate and competitive tenders.
*
Maintain effective communication with clients and stakeholders regarding project costs and value engineering opportunities.
*
Ensure all estimates align with client requirements, industry standards and project specifications.
Requirements
*
Proven experience as an M&E Estimator within the construction sector.
*
Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems and their installation across a variety of projects.
*
Excellent analytical and numerical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
*
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
*
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
*
Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office applications.
