Mechanical Pipefitter - Heating & Chilled Water

Location: Farnborough
Start Date: Wednesday 9th September
Duration: 6-8 weeks work
Rate: £30PH

We are currently looking for an experienced Mechanical Pipefitter to work on a commercial project carrying out heating and chilled-water pipework installations, alterations and strip-out works.

Duties will include:

Draining down systems and stripping out redundant heating and chilled-water pipework, ranging from ½" to 1½".
*

Using reciprocating saws to remove redundant pipework from local isolation valves entering rooms.
*

Installing 15mm-54mm copper XPress / press-fit pipework.
*

Carrying out small, basic lagging/insulation repairs to 15mm and 22mm chilled-water pipework.
*

Safely using Genie lifts to lower and remove fan coil units (FCUs).
*

Carrying out screwed/threaded pipework within plant areas when required.

Requirements:

*

Experienced Mechanical / Commercial Pipefitter.
*

Strong experience with heating and chilled-water systems.
*

Confident installing copper XPress / press-fit systems.
*

Experience with screwed/threaded pipework.
*

Previous experience working with FCUs.
*

Competent using Genie lifts for lowering mechanical plant/equipment.
*

Able to carry out basic pipe insulation/lagging repairs.
*

Valid CSCS/JIB-PMES card preferred.
*

Own tools and PPE.
*

Commercial/plant room experience essential.

Please note: The works will be completed in batches, typically lasting 1-2 weeks at a time as different areas of the site become available. During periods between these works, there will be screwed pipework and other mechanical works within plant areas to assist with.
