About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join its pre-construction and estimating team, working on commercial CAT A and CAT B fit-out projects across Central London.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive electrical tenders, reviewing drawings and specifications, managing subcontractor and supplier enquiries, and identifying value-engineering opportunities.

Projects typically range from £1m to £5m+, and the role will suit an estimator with strong commercial fit-out experience who can confidently manage tenders from initial enquiry through to final submission and handover.

Key Responsibilities

* Prepare detailed electrical estimates and tender submissions for commercial CAT A and CAT B fit-out projects.
* Review drawings, specifications, tender documentation and scopes of work.
* Complete detailed electrical take-offs and build labour and material allowances.
* Manage subcontractor and supplier enquiries throughout the tender process.
* Review and level subcontractor and supplier quotations.
* Identify scope gaps, exclusions, design risks and commercial opportunities.
* Prepare tender clarifications, qualifications and exclusions.
* Develop value-engineering proposals while maintaining specification and client requirements.
* Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, consultants and clients throughout the tender process.
* Work closely with project, commercial and pre-construction teams.
* Attend tender review meetings, site visits and pre-start meetings where required.
* Support the handover of successful tenders to the delivery and commercial teams.
* Maintain accurate estimating records and ensure tenders are completed within required deadlines.

Candidate Requirements

* Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator or Senior Electrical Estimator within the M&E or electrical contracting sector.
* Strong experience estimating commercial CAT A and CAT B fit-out projects in London.
* Experience working on electrical packages typically ranging from £1m to £5m+.
* Strong understanding of electrical drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
* Confident completing electrical take-offs and preparing labour and material build-ups.
* Experience managing subcontractor and supplier enquiries and levelling quotations.
* Strong knowledge of electrical building services and commercial fit-out installations.
* Good understanding of value engineering, scope-gap analysis and tender risk.
* Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
* Comfortable working independently on tenders while collaborating with wider pre-construction and operational teams.
* Strong communication skills with the confidence to deal directly with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors.
* Experience using electrical estimating software would be advantageous.
